Horse Training (2011-Present)
Training horses is something I would like to continue doing till I’m too brittle to do so. My number one passion will always be horses, though I will give everything else my all as well. I taught both my horses most of what they know and just spent this summer (2017) training horses in Montana. It’s just about the most rewarding experience to create something with your own two hands, I hope to do more in the future- with horses or otherwise.
By working with horses I have been able to develop my own training methods which I find work best as well as learn from mentors, something I will be able to do with any other project I pursue. Training a horse takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and consistency, all things I can bring to the table.
MTC Biomedical Capstone (Winter/Spring Semester 2017)
During my time at Meridian Technology Center, I gained knowledge as well as a passion for the field of Biomedical Sciences. In my last semester at MTC, I worked on a capstone project, highlighting my skills in research and the scientific method. Throughout the 3 month period, I compiled a 12-page research paper about stem cells, my new found obsession. During this time I immersed myself in the world of stem cell research, making diagrams and writing essays. By the end of the semester, I gave a presentation over my research to approximately 150 individuals. Because of this project, I have become a much more confident public speaker.
Financial Consulting Inc. (Spring 2017)
While working at FCI I compiled several templates that were used to guide Junior and Senior Consultants in inserting client information while making calls to past, present, or future clients. My templates make sure that data is compiled in an effective and efficient manner, whether the consultant is a senior or brand new to the business.
I thoroughly enjoyed making things that helped the company become more productive, I hope to do more things like this in the future!
Farming (2010-2017)
From a very young age, I was very interested in the agriculture industry, by the time I was 11 I owned my first calf which I bottle fed every day 2-3 times a day. I raised a calf every year, showing it locally for 3 years. By 2014 I used funds I had earned through manual labor and calf sales to buy a small herd of sheep. I owned and raised a small herd of sheep, breeding every fall and lambing out every spring, for four years. During these four years, I have been responsible for the care and health of my herd. I recently sold out of the sheep business to pursue a professional career as well as my passion for horses.
Photography (????-Present)
My passion for art began manifesting itself through photography in my early teen years when I first picked up a camera. I’m currently working on my portfolio and possible website. I’ve done several photo shoots for friends and would like to pursue more outside work.
