Below are some of my strongest skills that I have acquired and/or sharpened over the years, which I hope to use with full force in the coming years!
Goal-Oriented
I turn big challenges into achievable goals.
When I was 12 I used every platform available to me to save up and buy a horse. I raised and sold calves for a profit, I did manual labor at rental houses, I even sold candy to my siblings. And I did it, I saved up enough money to buy my own horse, who I still have to this day.
When I was 13 I wanted to be making cash-flow. So I started raising sheep.
During my time at Meridian Technology Center, I set a goal for myself that I would maintain a 4.0 GPA. By the end of my fourth and final semester, I had a 4.0 GPA, including my ability to now skip freshman year college biology.
While working at FCI, I made it a goal to increase productivity. I did this by creating effective standard operating systems for the employees.
Right now my goal is to start an exciting career while bypassing college, I guarantee that will happen. It’s my goal after all, right?
Enthusiastic
I get excited about my work- no matter the task I motivate myself and get excited about it. I can guarantee my full focus will be on my work, I’ll find problems and make solutions.
While going to MTC, I finally found an academic subject I enjoyed, Biology. I gave it my all, pulling all-nighters just because I loved it so much. I got excited about studying and getting in the lab.
While creating SOPs at FCI I again got excited about my work. I was solving productivity problems and I loved it!
When working with horses I give it 110% because it makes me feel alive.
I can get just about any job done but, when paired with the right task I will soar.
Self-Taught and Motivated
I love to learn & I love to get things done. Both on my own terms. That statement may seem rebellious, and maybe it is, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m the most productive when I’m learning what I want to be learning and doing what I want to be doing. In fact, I eat it up, I consume whatever I’ve chosen to pursue. (I would never have survived college…)
I was homeschooled from third grade up, I’ve taught myself most of what I know through research and my desire to learn. Even when attending MTC, I still strived to know all that I possibly could. I am very self-motivated, my work has always been turned in before the due date and my grade has never dropped below a 93.
At MTC I found I was wasting gobs of time on monotonous calculations and table building, so to make my job easier I taught myself to create “programs” using Microsoft Word & Excel. These programs did my calculations for me and made easily read tables and charts.
While working at FCI, I had no experience in creating an SOP but, through analyzing the needs of the company I was able to define what I wanted my end product to look like and made it. I taught myself to build easily understandable documents, which at the time I didn’t even realize were classified as SOPs.
For the first few years of riding and working with horses, I had no mentor. I taught myself how to ride, learning all I could from books, but mostly from feel. Even now, having all the influences that I do, most of what I know is from experience.
I know from my past experience that whatever I decide to pick up next I will put my heart and soul into it and I will succeed.
