Today I began an adventure I’ve been wanting to start for quite some time. After some careful consideration and a little research, I’ve started mixing my own horse feed.
Now if you’re unfamiliar with horses, most people buy a pre-mixed grain. Of course there are pros and cons to this. Its easier, and sometimes cheaper but you’re also sacrificing getting your horse the exact nutriance they need or even knowing what they’re receiving. Just like us, horses need somewhat individualized diets– depending on their level of activity, age, weight, metabolism, ect,. By mixing my own grain I hope to give my horses more of what they need and cut out any unnecessary fillers while adding extra suppulments to keep them healthy.
Being a great horseman is something I’m very passionate about and this is one way I hope to become even better. Its the little things, step by step, that make you great at anything.
